Re: FYI: Zoe Jakes DVD
Wed, January 14, 2009 - 2:07 PMcool :)
but i must say i ve stopped purchasing videos where there s not at least a 2 or 3 min trailer with some SUBSTANTIAL information on what is covered in the dvd and what style it is taught. especially if i ve never been instructed before by the person on dvd. :)
got too many already, no more money to waste.
why is bdss not producin trailers??!!!
unless there were a substantial number of reviews especially by reputed reviewers like mala, irina, lauren.. i ll not buy a dvd with no trailer, sorry..

Wed, January 14, 2009 - 2:50 PMHere's my trailer: ZOE JAKES KICKS ASS! She is a wonderful teacher. I have taken four workshops with her and she is worth EVERY penny! This DVD is definately on my wish list... scratch that, my MUST HAVE list!

Re: FYI: Zoe Jakes DVD
Thu, January 15, 2009 - 3:18 PMThey usually put trailers on other existing videos. Check the website too. Zoe is pretty consistant with her workshops in that she will BUST your BUTT. She does tribally stuff, and seems to have turn centered and pop-lock influence. She incorporates good drills, whether she dreams them up herself or takes them from other dancers she respects (i.e mardi, Rachel, Bozenka, etc). Also, she's a stickler for good from from toes to fingertips. Hopefully that helps.
Amberetta - love the trailer . You so silly! ; ) -

Re: FYI: Zoe Jakes DVD
Thu, January 15, 2009 - 4:39 PMGot Netflix? Some of the BDSS DVDs end up there, so you can watch the whole thing before deciding to buy. Still haven't seen the new tribal DVD on it, though.... My concern: the last two DVDs I got from BDSS through Netflix (Bozenka's and PJ's) won't play in our DVD player, only the very old PlayStation. So weird....only other time I've ever had that problem is the FCBD DVDs--the very old version that FCBD has since reissued b/c of the problem. -

Re: FYI: Zoe Jakes DVD
Mon, January 19, 2009 - 7:53 AMWhy don't you wait until somebody is writing a review like mala bhargava (her reviews are very thorough) or somebody else?
But I know it's hard to wait for me, too.
I only hope the sound of this DVD will be better than the sound of Tribal Fusion Fundamentals... -

Re: FYI: Zoe Jakes DVD
Mon, January 19, 2009 - 11:53 AMya you re right. thorough reviews like hers make up for a lack in trailers or preview.
i do think they should provide them for the buyers though - also in their self-interest - rather than have customers organise themselves?

Re: FYI: Zoe Jakes DVD
Sun, February 8, 2009 - 5:00 AMI just ordered the DVD from the BDSS website and it didn't say anything about pre-ordering. Does anyone know if that's the deal?
Is it really available now?
